Just to tell you about my first experience of Track-daze at Kyalami a few weeks ago. (6 Feb 2010.)

I have now attended all the different track days that are on offer in SA and never have I seen such a well organized event.

I do not know what your success is but keep on doing it. (discipline and the limited riders per group)

Thank You for a fantastic day.

Gerrit

Would just like to say a huge thanks for Saturday.

I felt that the day was very well run and controlled, and I will definitely be a regular at your track days next year.

Keep it up.

Warm regards,

Hi Dave and Arno,

Just want to thank you for a great event. Words cannot describe the fun filled day I had. It does not get any better at 47!!!! Very well run and especially if you consider the high entry of D-level riders. I am hooked and will be there again.

I highly recommend this to any keen biker. The overall discipline of all that participated was good to see.

Thanks again and keep up the outstanding event.

Hi Dave,

Hello Dave,

I had loads of fun on Friday – started in group D and was then moved up to group C. Best lap time was 2.21 (Group C) which is probably not great in the bigger scheme of things J

One of the instructors indicated that I need to follow him during our 2nd Group D session – showed me lines, where to break and throttle control – pulled me into the pits and explain the whole throttle control thing to me – I really appreciated this.

One of the CSS guys mentioned in our briefing session that the “Rhytm of the track” is important - I started understanding this during my Group C session, everything started making sense all of a sudden.

One of the best day’s of my life!!

O yes – I also won a prize, book autographed by Andy Ibbott, how cool is that!!

I’ve only been on Zwartkops once (open track day) – this was my first time on Kyalami and with a proper track school. I will highly recommend this to everyone!!

Thanks for a brilliant day – looking forward to next time.

I took part in level 1 and 2 this week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Please bear me in mind for level 3 next year when it comes up?

I would like to put my name down for the DVD coming out at the end of the month (twist of the wrist) If I have to pay now to secure a booking then please give me your banking details and the amount.

Thanks again for a well orginised event. I will be back for the rest

Hi Guys

Just wanted to say thanks alot for organising the California Superbike School here at Kyalami. I did Level 2&3 this year and thoroughly enjoyed. I now have all the tools in my bag to improve my riding (not that it hasn't improved already) but now its just a matter of practice, practice and even more practice.

Once again thanks.

Hi Dave Arno

I want to congratulate you on a super event, everything was just superb,

I manage to get my lap times form 2:08 to a stunning 1:59 in one day,

I am a BMW Instructor on both on road and off-road and was blown away with the training, we are looking to book at least 10 places form our BMW Rider Academy next year,  most of the riders will be on the new BMW 1000RR. I will confirm this with you at a later stage.

Please send our regards to Mike and Hilton, you are privilege to have them on board, also a big thank you to Andy and his team,

Best Regards

Dave and Arno,

I would like to sincerely thank you for a fantastic day yesterday.

I attended level-1 of California Superbike School at Kyalami last year and I was left disappointed, probably because I had an unrealistic expectation and, because I had already read and was implementing most of what was taught.

I was not going to attend level-2 this year because the day was costly and I was not convinced, based on last years experience, that level-2 would teach me anything that I had not already read and practiced on the track myself. After chatting with Arno I decided to follow his advice and sign up.

I am grateful for the advice, and glad that I followed it, because I learned a lot that will make me quicker and many of my current problem areas were dealt with. I also got to do some drills that I would not ordinarily get the opportunity to do at a track day because they would interfere with the other riders.

I would highly recommend level-2 to any level of rider, even if they think that they are already fast and doing all the right things, and I will definitely be attending level-3 next year.

I now realize that one should see each level as a single module of the complete curriculum and that each module builds on the modules that came before it. Obviously the level and experience of each rider is an unknown so it makes sense that everybody needs to start at level-1 and that everyone’s knowledge is brought up to the same level before progressing.

The day was run in a most professional manner and it is amazing, with so many people attending, that everyone knows exactly where they need to be and when. The day ran like clockwork, the classroom sessions were great, and the track time was for the most part way more than was necessary.

Well done and thanks again

Hi Guys

Just to say thanks for another great outing with you yesterday! Great show; professionally run, very willing and able instructors and a great time at Phakisa. Keep up the good work – we’ll join you sometime soon.

I wanted to speak to you personally on Saturday but you seemed to be very popular and I didn't want to interrupt.
I want to record my appreciation of your Intermediate 2 instructors. Having done a few track days with other organizations, I am used to the "Instructors" being fast moving mobile risks in the slower groups, and not much else. Last Saturday I had three of your Intermediate 2 Group instructors giving me personal feedback at various times during the day, all having followed me at some stage and apparently finding my bike very recognizable so they are able to find me in the pits. All the advice was very informative and useful, helping me get quicker and more confident.

Thanks: I think your organization is a lot more professional than the others, the day runs like clockwork and there seem to be far less incidents, while your instructors are excellent.

Hi Dave/Arno

Thanks for a great day on the track. I didn’t expect it to be so professional and organized due to previous experiences with other organized days. I will certainly try my best to attend all the track days you present in future.

Dave, I just wanted to thank you for everything. I had a great time at Kyalami yesterday and was very impressed with how organized you guys are. I look forward to coming back again. BTW, I ran a 2.07 at the end of the day.

Thanks,

Tomasz

On the Californian Superbike School, all I can say, it is the best money I have even spent on motorbiking, better than buying my Ducati 848, brand new.

My only wish is that I did this course 30 years old, when I started riding a motorbike.

Cheers

I would like to thank you and your team for the excellent track day at Kyalami last Saturday                4 July 2009.  I was especially impressed with your professionalism, and the way the riding sessions   were arranged.

Hi Dave,

Just wanted to say thanks to you and Arno for another awesome track day.
I really learned a lot on the day and the personal attention from Sean, Hilton and Steve was really fantastic.

Sean really has a superb manner and explains things in a simple, but effective way. I only hope that he completes all levels of CSS and becomes one of their instructors because he would be an asset to them and can help other riders not only improve their times, but ensure they do it safely. Please extend my gratitude to him.

Hilton is always ready to help and his advice is invaluable.

Steve was great too and the video footage is a real eye opener. I will definitely make use of him at Kyalami on the 4th of July and ask him to film some more laps. I can use this together with what Sean taught me and look for more reference points and build a bigger picture of the track.

See you at Track-Daze!

Hi Dave and Arno,

Firstly wanted to say I attended your track day on the 1st March 2009, at PHAKISA.

What a fantastic event, well organized, great atmosphere, and I cannot explain how much I learnt being my first time on the track with my bike. So much so that I want to do all your track days in future.

So I have paid and would like to be booked for the 29th March at PHAKISA again, and will see you guys there.

Thanks once again for a great event.

PS  Do you have a Life Time membership form J

 Thanks

Gents

Thank you for a brilliant track day this past weekend at Kyalami!

Not only did the weather hold out, but I sensed a real “Phakisa” atmosphere throughout the day…

And Dave thanks for being present and making your voice heard at the noise testing, I believed it made it easier for all of us.

Besides this I’m really picking the fruits from November’s CSS, I managed to drop my lap time by a massive 8 seconds on Saturday!

Looking forward to the next event…

Cheers

Many thanks for a great track day on Saturday, we had a fantastic time and valued the input from the instructors.

Could you possibly suggest one or two instructors and both myself and Grant are keen to have some further tuition?

We would also be keen for the next California Superbike school.

Cheers,

Garth

Hello, Dave and Arno

Just a word of thanks to you, the organizers and Andy Ibbot for the wonderful Yamaha R series track day at Phakisa on 23 November 2008. I managed to get some pointers on braking technique and suspension settings from Andy and this cut three seconds off my lap times!!

It was a wonderful day, with great riding and fun. Thanks for your efforts in making this happen, I really enjoyed it.

Kind Regards

Hey there guys…

Don’t know how to say thanks again for yesterday….

I finally broke through the FEAR barrier at the track day yesterday and what a liberating feeling to be on the bike and not be held back by a fear of falling,

but rather being driven by an enjoyment of passion for motorsport.

Not only did I improve and work on my riding style and body positioning…but at the end of the day my lap times improved and the fear was gone….

And that was worth the entire day to me….

So thanks again for all the effort you put in to organize a day like you did…

It is greatly appreciated.

Will see u at Phakisa and Kyalami again next month…

Have a great week.

Ciao for now.

Bryce

p.s…. got my knee down properly for the first time yesterday….. WOOHOO…

Hey there guys…

Just wanted to send a quick HUGE THANK YOU to you guys for the track day at Phakisa this weekend 29/06/2008.

It was absolutely awesome…

Not only is the track a legendary moto gp track, but I learnt so much from just chatting to the instructors and then having Arno Follow me around the track to see where I can improve and putting into practice all the different techniques that’s involved with riding your bike safely while having some fun…and man o man did I have FUN! so thanks again to you guys for all your efforts…it is greatly appreciated…

I absolutely loved the day…cant wait for another one

Have a great week.

Ciao for now.

I thought I would just give you feed back on my riding since the California bike school.

I thoroughly enjoyed the school and felt really good afterwards but I was unable to put into practice what I had learnt until this past weekend when I attended a track day at kyalami. Just for the record my track times at kyalami had averaged at about a 2.04 but I had done a couple of 2.02.

I was trying not to psyche myself out before the track day but I was definitely hoping for an improvement in my times. I started the day in group B as I wanted to practice what I had learnt. From the word go I felt more confident. I was using the whole track, feeling relaxed and just generally feeling good. The second session came and I went out in A. I have never enjoyed myself so much. I felt like I could over take with confidence, using different lines and I even went onto the kerb without worrying. A lot of good riders might not understand but I just felt like I was in total control where before I had felt a bit like I was just hanging on. Anyway I thought I had done some really good times but I had forgotten to switch on my lap timer.

The third session came and I could not wait to get out. The rain clouds had come and I knew this was most probably going to be my last session of the day. We went out and again I just felt totally confident and within myself. I was doing lap times between 2.00 and 2.01 and felt really pleased. A very light drizzle started so I thought to myself that I should just complete the lap I was on and go in. When I came into the pit I looked at my lap timer and I saw I had done a 1.59.

All I can put my new found confidence down to is the California bike school. I improved by a solid 2 seconds and I think it would have even been more because the average time of the quicker riders was a good 2 seconds slower than usual due to the cooler/rainy conditions.

I would just like to thank you for bringing the school here and I can totally endorse their product and I will definitely be there in November for level 3 and 4.

Cheers

Andy, Jet & Badger, THANK YOU for an awesome day at Kyalami on 19 Feb 2008.

Andy, your classroom sessions are informative yet you manage to impart the knowledge with some humour to keep us all interested.

Jet, your help on track was great, the encouragement & persistence and most of all patience & understanding were really appreciated.

Badger, your perseverance & assistance in the "swerving" exercise opened a whole new realm for me - such a simple tip like "move your arse back" made the world of difference on track.

I'm definately in for the next time you come out to South Africa!

Once again, thanks guys!

Kyalami 18th&19th February 2008

Thank you very much for 2 absolutely fantastic days. Thanks also for finding me 6 seconds a lap. Everyone I spoke to had a splendid time.

Special thanks to you for all the jokes, and to Johnny and Gary for the excellent tuition. You guys are really sharp.

I hope to see you again soon.

Ray Stride

What a School!!! My riding has improved by about 50%. The classroom sessions were very informative.

The riding instructors were very dedidcated and showed me exactly where I was going wrong. I definately will enrol for Level 3 & 4. My friend Logan Govender attended with me, and realised after the first day that the level of training was value for money.

Although we have been biking together for about 20 Years, the coaching helped us to get rid of some bad Habits.

Grateful to Andy and his Merry Men.

Arno and Track-daze team.

I would really like like to thank you and everyone else for the track school on Nov. 18/ 07.

It was my first experience on a track and was very nervous. I drove from Durb's and I didn't know anyone. . . . that didn't matter much because everyone was so helpful and friendly, especially Brad and Brett. thank's guys !

Being new to riding i had lot's to learn !!
thank's to the instructor's what a marvelous job they did ! They really taught me tonnes !!
I left Phakisa feeling so much more confident.
I've been bitten by the track bug and am  now constantly looking up your page to view track school's for 2008.

many thank's to all for an absolutely excellent day !!
will definitely be seeing you guy's very soon !

Dave & Arno - thanks for a fantastic day as always. Well run (like bloody clockwork) even ran early for most of the day! Only two "offs" that I was aware off too - that 400 looked well poked after it's tumble.
Mind you so did the BRAND NEW ZX10. 5 odd km's on the clock & splat! Bummer.

I'd rather be scared to death than bored to death!

Hi Lynette,

Hi Dave and Arno,

Let me tell you that I think you guys are FANTASTIC.  You are the best.  You run your school with absolute dedication and commitment and I am very proud to being associated with you.

I STILL have "that I have new tyres" smile on my face.  My photograph is being block mounted to go on my wall for all to see.

Although the school seemed like hard work, its a school that will be remembered as one of my top schools.  What I achieved on the track over the two day period is huge.  Thank you for hosting such an event, there is nobody out there who could have done a better job.

Thank you seems inadequate at this stage, but I would like to thank you for all you have done for me.  I hope we spend many more happy years together.

Love Lynette.

Hi Arno.
Just wanted to thank you and Dave for a fantastic trackday on Saturday the 14th of Oct.!
Having fewer people on track at the same time makes a world of difference and the group I was in (Intermediate One) was very nicely paced!
I'd also like to confirm that you have my entry form for the double-trackday Phakisa weekend in November? I handed it in on Saturday.
Thanks again,

Hi Dave

Thanks for a great day on Saturday at Kyalami.

The instruction given was phenomenal, very helpful, I'm a better rider for it.

Sorry for the red flag in the afternoon, I was on the VTR that went down @ Wesbank. Thank you very much for the way the marshals and medics handled the situation, very professional and caring.

It looks as though a fork seal blew out under braking, taking weight away from the front when suddenly compressing, the front locked up and I was on the deck in an instant! My injuries were minimal, great testimony to wearing the right safety equipment.

I'll be rebuilding the bike and back with you guys for some sessions ASAP!

All the best
